Bikes and Business: Attracting the Best and the Brightest

May 2, 2014

Ken Ohrn wonders: How does a hot tech company continue to attract the best and the brightest?  For certain, the answer has lots of components to it.

But here is Hootsuite’s bike room:

A fundamental part of the equation.

Tableau Software, in the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle, right on the Burke-Gilman Trail, also has a lovely bike room, and is currently working on adding a second one, as we’ve run out of room in the first one. The other tech companies in our office complex also have large bike cages in the parking structure.

Tech types who like to ride bikes should take a look at our openings. Or Adobe’s. Or Google’s. Or Netmotion’s. Or Deloitte Digital’s (all companies in the same complex, right at the nexus of many grade separated bike trails in Seattle).:)

Send pictures! I’d love to start a series on best bike rooms – for tech companies and others.

Our building’s bike room is filled to capacity by 8:30 am. If you ride in after that, you are SOL and need to park outside. Even during Winter, most days, the room is filled (even when many parking spots remain empty).

    I’ll send some photos along.

I’d say New Relic one-upped Hootsuite:)

(I don’t work for New Relic- just impressed by the bicycle parking with a view)
