Charts of the Year (U.S. dept.)

December 30, 2011

The Dish’s Andrew Sullivan (my favourite American blogger) has a contest every year for an assortment of awards – winners announced here (plus glossary of the award names here).  I don’t think he’d mind further promotion of the ”Chart of the Year” since it explains so much about American politics:

.

And as a bonus, he adds this chart from the New York Times, nominated by Ezra Klein - also extremely enlightening given the meme to the contrary:

Bush had $2.7 trillion government revenue….he had a paltry $160 billion budget deficit before Democrats took over Congress.

Democrats and Obama have had a $1 trillion PLUS deficit every year. This chart is left winger ideology and spin. But no surprise coming from this blog.
