A thoughtful piece, I hope people learn the lesson (I liked the first proposal best).

What an absolute failure on the part of council.

So much for affordable rental. It doesn’t matter that they will be replaced with rental, new rental suites won’t be as affordable as an older building such as that was. I had the fortune to visit someone who had a suite in that building one time, and she bragged about finding it, not just because of favourable rent but the suite was beautiful, if definately older. It’s an absolute shame that this building will be destroyed purely because of the dithering and complete lack of backbone by council on this issue. Time to reinstate the ability to transfer density off-site for heritage preservation.
