Better than Google
I might as well as join the viral herd that’s spreading the news about a streetview service even better than Google:

From Paul Kreuger:
Unbelievable. Streetsview has finally come to Vancouver, not through Google but through CanPages! For those of you unfamiliar with Streetsview, click the “Streetsview” checkbox at this site and blue lines will appear on the map. Click anywhere on a blue line and you’ll have on the street level photography where you can look up, down, and all around. You can move through the streets view by dragging the photo up or down, or clicking on the blue dots.
This is a great resource (even better than Google’s street view).
It’s true: the photography is sharper and brighter, the site more functional – and it’s local.
I am glad Vancouver has some sort of street view, and the site is pretty good.
There were sightings a while back of the “google car”. I wonder if this was it? This is nice, but I don’t Vancouver has really “hit the big time” until we get the real Vancouver street view.
I did a little digging and found that the photo content is provide by MapJack, a competitor to Google.
Also, Google Street View appears to have finally gotten the go-ahead in Canada, as revealed in the Vancouver Sun earlier this week. Vancouver is one of 11 cities identified for the first roll-out.
