The City of Vancouver is only about five years into its twenty-year outdoor advertising contract with Viacom-Decaux. If advertising is going to pay for the Metro Vancouver bike sharing, Vancouver will need to replace its estimated $47 million in revenue.

Interestingly, 235 bike lockers are part of the contract, although none have been installed.
